Please see the following steps below to resolve XAMPP MySQL crash.

  1. Stop services (Apache & MySQL), close XAMPP

  2. Navigate to "C:\xampp\mysql"

  3. Delete/rename "data" folder

  4. Create a new "data" folder inside "C:\xampp\mysql"

  5. Open another file explorer

  6. Navigate to "C:\xampp\MySQL\backup"

  7. Copy EVERYTHING inside "C:\xampp\MySQL\backup" to "C:\xampp\MySQL \data"

  8. Relaunch XAMPP

  9. Start services (Apache & MySQL)

P.S.: You will need to recreate your database and user accounts
