Course Objectives (Course-level Student Learning Outcomes):
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: • Implement a functional game loop, managing game state and updates. • Apply object-oriented programming principles to structure game entities. • Design and implement collision detection and response. • Integrate 3D models, animations, and assets into functional game environments • Utilize an industry-standard game engine interface and scripting language to create games

Topics Covered (In Outline/Calendar):
• Advanced scripting languages for games • Game engine overview • Game loop architecture • 2D and 3D coordinate systems • Sprite animation • Input systems • Texture mapping and UV coordinates • Particle systems and visual effects • 2D and 3D physics simulation and collision detection

Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions. (SLO1)
  • Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline. (SLO2)
